Diantie's Daily Quote - "A #2 pencil..."

Trails of smoke from passing airplanes; dusty blue skies; and a few patches of clouds is what I see as I look out and up at the Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight will again be red and green. The snow still covers the sidewalks but the weather is predicted to be 40 plus degrees for the next couple of days. Hopefully we will get some relief and the snow will melt away and become a thing of the past. What a year it has been. Freezing temperatures and one snow storm after another; winter sure had its say in 2010. Let's hope for better weather next year.

Today's quote is "A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere." Author Joyce A. Myers.

I love it! There is something about the pencil which makes it so powerful. I have been using pencils all my life. I am probably one of the few people I know who relies on a pencil. I actually have two pencils; one I carry with me and the other I leave at work. "The Dream" - when a thought comes to you or you envision something, you write it down; that's what the pencil is for!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I am open..."

It is warmer here in NYC today but there is still lots of snow outside. Dusty blue skies surround the Empire State Building and the color for the lights tonight will be red and green for the Christmas season.

Today's quote is "I am open to all health, love and abundance the universe has to offer me. " Author Denise Basteiro.

I second and third that! Maybe I will be a little cautious about the abundance part.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "When you fall..."

Yes, I am at work and ready to take on the day. My train was running so I made sure I was on it. No nice blue skies as I look out and up at the Empire State Building only dark clouds. The colors for the lights tonight will be orange and white; purple and white and stripes of colors. There are three events represented by the lights tonight. Yesterday for the first time I saw the lights as they were turned on. I never paid attention to this occasion but now that I am highlighting it in my blog, it is amazing what I see when I look outside.

Today's quote is "When you fall down, get up and keep going." Author Evan Mahabir.

Yes, please get up when you fall. Determination and motivation are personal driving forces we should use everyday. While we may not succeed at everything we try, we learn a lot from the process including the obstacles placed in our way.

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Don't hold back..."

Yes, I made it into NYC today. I got lucky and did not have to wait too long for a train. We all got up and once again had to dig ourselves out of the snow. The plough came and got stuck and needed to be rescued. At least I have to say that a good job was done so we can get out and onto the main roads. The colors for the lights tonight will again be red and green. As I look out and up at the Empire State Building, I see nice blue skies out there.

Today's quote is "Don't hold back yourself from doing what you want to do!" Author Hope Mahabir.

Nice quote. Another way to say the same thing is to go after your dreams. While timing is everything, you should still try hard to realize your dreams. Be proactive!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Live out of ..."

Snow and more snow. I had to take the day off from work not by choice but because an emergency was declared so no unnecessary vehicles on the road. The day was spent digging out the snow just like the millions of other New Yorkers. I am hoping to make it into NYC tomorrow so then I will be able to report on the sightings of the Empire State Building. The colors for the lights are still red and green for tonight.

Today's quote is "Live out of your imagination, not your history." Author Steven Covey

Great quote. Actually imagination is the in thing now. Coaches are encouraging imagination.

Kindness - yesterday's quote was about kindness. Little did I know that a kind deed would be done for me when I wrote that quote. My neighbors showed their kindness when our car was stuck in the snow. They all came out and help dug us out and one neighbor drove my brother and the children home.

I said the people in New York were nice. Well, here is one more act of kindness to add to the list!

Diantie's Daily Quote "Ask yourself:..."

Snow, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Yes, it is snowing here in NYC and here on Long Island too. It is beginning to stick and the prediction is maybe over 8 inches. The color for the lights tonight on the Empire State Building will be red and green tonight until December 28, 2010.

Today's quote is "Ask yourself: Have you been kind today? Make kindness your daily modus operandi and change your world." Annie Lennox.

This is great quote and most people want to be kind. And yes, most people do make it a point to be kind to someone everyday. The people in New York are really nice. If you stop anyone on the street and ask for directions, someone will help you. And if they cannot help you, they will say so.

Christmas gifts! I got a nice pair of earrings, a sleep shirt, a purse, a gift card, a watch and some of my other gifts I have not received as yet because I have to go out and choose what I want. Isn't great a feeling to be able to pick whatever you want as a gift. The reason this works so well is because I am a simple person and only choose things I really want and not frivolous things. Let's see how much longer I will have this option available to me.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Christmas isn't a ...

Merry Christmas to all of you! As you can see I got a little fancy and found some nice images on the internet. Yes, there were for free! The color for the light on the Empire State Building will be red and green tonight.
Today's quote is "Christmas isn't a season. It's a feeling." Author Edna Ferber.
The children could not wait to open up their gifts. It was the anticipation of what to expect that made them feel good. The other children will come over later and we will repeat the opening the gifts and getting excited feeling again.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I have the people..."

Holiday today and a day off from work. Lots to do and hopefully it will be a stress free day. All the gifts were wrapped last night so no last minute shopping to be done. The lights for the Empire State Building are red and green and yes, I did see on TV that they were reg and green last night.

Today's quote is "I have the people behind me and the people are my strength." Author Huey Newton.

I chose this quote because it reflects social media. Facebook, it now has about 500 million users so it is the people that is fueling this tool we use everyday. It is powerful because of support of friends and followers.

Have a stress free day.

Diantie's Daily Quote - 'If I had to live..."

No blue skies only dark clouds are covering the skyline. Yes, it is cold out there. Nice view of the Empire State Building but blue skies and sunshine would make it perfect. The color for the lights tonight are red and green. No, I did not see the lights last night.

Today's quote is "If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner." Author Tallulah Bankhead.

Yes, I would probably make the same mistakes but then I would not know any better. And if I did know better, I am sure that I would make some more that I did not make in my present life. Some people would like to erase their mistakes and with good reason. Courage is saying that I made mistakes and now I have moved on. I am not living in past!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "True change takes ..."

Dusty blue skies surround the Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight is white but I am sure I saw on TV that there were green last night so maybe I am thinking red and green for tonight even though the schedule says white.

Today's quote is "True change takes place in the imagination." Author Thomas Moore.

OK, that maybe true. I want to add that true change starts with imagination. How else can we change? We have a make a plan and set some goals or affirmations for the things we want to change. Remember the mantra for positive people is "Change is Good."

The full moon! How many people saw history created with the lunar eclipse? I forgot about it but wish that I had stayed up to see it. Last night I saw the full moon in action and this morning I got a glimpse of it again. Did I mention I like to look up the sky?

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Life is not..."

Nice blue skies out there over the Empire State Building. Sunshine and some white clouds out there. Hopefully it will not be a freezing day today. The color for the lights tonight should be white.

Today's quote is "Life is not so much about beginnings and endings as it is about going on and on and on. It is about muddling through the middle." Author Anna Quindlen

I love it! Yes, I agree with this quote completely. Life is a journey.

Monday, December 20, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The word courage..."

Sunshine but below freezing and hopefully it will warm up a few degrees. The lights will be white on the Empire State Building tonight.

Today's quote is " The word courage - God, I love that word. Words are so important to me." Author Peter Fonda.

Yes, it is a powerful word. How do we get courage? I have noticed an increase in personal coaches; one of five people I meet at networking events is a personal coach. Why? Because we all need help in some form or fashion. Not all of us were blessed with the energy and motivation to get things done so we seek help. Even though I think courage comes from within, it not easy for some people to show and express it.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Good things happen..."

Yes, I still can't find the time in the morning to write so it seems like it will have to evenings until the holidays are over. I did OK so far in accomplishing things. I have not touched the other "to do list" but that will be after answering e-mails, etc. I actually got the Christmas tree out and started putting up decorations!

Today's quote is "Good things happen when you get your priorities straight." Author Scott Caan.

Great quote. How many times have we said these words to other people including ourselves? Many for sure. Yes, the world we live in always expects us to get our priorities straight and we are constantly reminded of this. But why? According to the quote, good things happen.! I will add to that - and we avoid not so pleasant situations.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Dream and give ..."

What a busy day and I'm happy it was not too cold. Errands occupied all my time today so there was no time to get to this blog. The lights on the Empire State Building were green last night. Tonight I have no clue as the schedule says white for the lights.

Today's quote is "Dream and give yourself permission to envision a You that you choose to be." Author Joy Page

Yes, I am actually going to be doing a little bit of dreaming and envisioning a "Me" that I want to be. Results to come later.

Tonight I attended a cultural show in Queens and it was good talent on display. I saw young children and teenagers performing and it was great. A few of them played the Sitar and I was impressed. My niece sang and played the keyboard. She did good too. I was stuck in traffic on my way there and with God on my side, I arrive seconds before my niece performed. Talk about perfect timing!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Love is as ..."

Clouds, some white some dark, are passing over the Empire State Building as I write this post. Last night I saw on TV that the lights were red and green. The schedule says white for tonight but we shall see. Cold is what's in store for NYC today and maybe snow over the weekend.

Today's quote is "Love is as strict as acting. If you want to love somebody, stand there and do it. If you don't, don't. There are no other choices." Author Tyne Daly

In keeping with the love quotes, I found this one today which is telling it like it is. Most people will agree that a little more love won't hurt.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "No matter what..."

Clouds and a tint of sunshine is what I see surrounding the Empire State Building. The color for the lights last night was actually white and again tonight it maybe white.

Today's quote is "No matter what it is, pick yourself up and go on to the next project." Author Shelley Duvall.

Excellent quote. Most of us do this all time. Especially entrepreneurs! Energy will be my word for 2011 and I will use it again and again. Once you have it, you can accomplish most things you set out to do.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote -"Love is space..."

I decided to multi-task today to get this blog written. 250! That is how many postings I have done so far. Wow! I can't believe the days have gone by so quickly. What am I multi-tasking? Eating my lunch with writing the blog. Empire State Building has only clouds surrounding it. The lights are probably white for tonight.

Today's quote is "Love is space and time measured by the heart." Author Marcel Proust.

My quote yesterday was about we all having our own definition of love. I like this one. It goes with absence makes the heart grows fonder. OK, I know people will not agree but that's OK. Remember, we agree to disagree. It is wonderful to have your own opinion. How else can we progress in this world?

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Everyone admits that..."

What a freezing to death day! That's how I felt after walking around outside a little tonight. I was so excited to get home, I grabbed my coat and forgot my hat.

Today's quote is "Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is." Author Diane Ackerman.

Interesting! Yes, most of us have our own definition of "just what love is". At least we are all in agreement that we do not have to agree on what love is.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "We do not..."

Overcast day here in NYC but at least it is not freezing or raining. No sighting of the Sun or any blue skies out there surrounding the Empire State Building. The color for the lights is again white.

Today's quote is " We do not remember days, we remember moments." Author Cesare Pavese.

Very true. Few of us can relate all the moments we remember to specific days. For some of us, these specific moments may have occurred on a specific day such as birthday so the date is clear in our heads. For the rest of us, it is the moments we remember when we talk about events in our lives.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Maybe one day..."

Rain and more rain today in New York. At least it is not freezing cold. Yes, I have to go out do some errands but I have not decided just how much I plan to do. The color for the lights on the Empire State Building is suppose to be white.

Today's quote is "Maybe one day I can have a reunion with myself." Author Sebastian Bach.

I like this quote and it definitely made me start to think about what that meeting would look like. Imagine being able to see the stages as you experience life but from your today's perspective? I think it would look something like the "this is your life" segment when you are being honored at an event. The more provoking question is - How do you want to be seen in those stages of your life?

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote- "I really believe..."

More cold weather in store for today but there is some sunshine out there. Always lots of things to do on the weekend. We may even time to put up the Christmas tree; let's see. The color for the lights on the Empire State Building tonight is white.

Today's quote is "I really believe that everyone has a talent, ability, or skill that he can mine to support himself and to succeed in life." Author Dean Koontz.

To add to that there are some people who have more than one talent. Most of these people are definitely successful.

Word of advice for today "Do Some Good".

Friday, December 10, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Create each day..."

The weather outside is not quite frightful but it is getting there. No sunshine in sight but dark clouds surround the Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight is white. I guess that means no event is being honored.

Today's quote is "Create each day anew." Morihei Ueshiba.

Yes, we should do this but it is sometimes hard to do so especially if we have baggage from the previous days which need to be taken care of.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I wish I could ..."

Please do not tell me winter is here cause I'm not ready for it. I had to think real hard about what to wear today and I knew a sweater was not going to cut it. A little tint of a dusty blue sky is what I see surrounding the Empire State Building. A few minutes ago, I saw a little plane flew by. It would be nice to have the time to take pictures of these Kodak moments. The colors for the light tonight are again blue and white for Chanukah.

Today's quote is "I wish I could believe that one person could make a difference." Author Tracy Ullman.

Yes Tracy, one person can make a difference. Maybe not a worldwide miracle, but little steps that a person makes contribute to change. Change takes time. We are all impatient and need to slow down. As I am "one person", I made a positive difference in a lot of things I do which has helped other people. And so can the rest of you!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Disciplining yourself to..."

It is cold outside! Another freezing day and I have not adjusted my body to deal with the change. Dusty blue skies is what I see as I stare out the window looking up at the Empire State Building. It is good to know that there are other people who are also fascinated with the Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight and tomorrow are blue and white for Chanukah.

Today's quote is "Disciplining yourself to do what is right and importance, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction. Author Margaret Thatcher.

Yes, I totally agree. The key word is "discipline". It is not easy to discipline yourself to do things. It requires this force and motivation to get yourself going. I say, set the goal and be determined to achieve it.

Remember that change happens over time so a little change everyday in a positive direction will turn you into someone you knew existed but was hiding in dark. Try it!

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The only thing..."

Another cold day here in NYC. The Sun is shining but there are still lots of dark clouds surrounding the Empire State Building. The colors for the lights tonight are orange and white for the Food Bank.

Today's quote is "The only thing that lasts longer than a friend's love is the stupidity that keeps us from knowing any better." Author Randy K. Milholland.

Great quote! Society has taught us not to display our finer qualities if it appears as if we would be bragging. Because of the personal conflicts we face both internally and externally, sometimes we deprive ourselves from absorbing all the happiness life has to offer. In the 1990 , we used to say "lighten-up". I think we need to start saying it again. Life is too short not to take advantage of all the wonderful things it has to offer including the love of a friend.

Monday, December 6, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I look forward ..."

Is it too early for snow flurries? I think so! I am not ready for cold weather and all the bundling up required when I step out the door. Luckily for me, I was able to quickly locate my hat, gloves and scarf. Dark clouds surround the Empire State Building and the colors for the lights tonight are still blue and white.

Today's quote is "I look forward to being older, when what you look like becomes less and less an issue and what you are is the point." Author Susan Sarandon.

It is interesting I found this quote. A few weeks ago I will talking to my friends and family about this. We were discussing teeth. I told them that I did not care if I was missing a tooth or two when I am 70 years old as this is what is expected at that age. It is good to see my female support system out there have similar thoughts too. Most of us plan to age gracefully and embrace what life has to offer us in our old age.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Happiness is your..."

The day is almost over and now I sit down to write this blog. I went out earlier to take care of a few errands and do some shopping and came home feeling a little ill. The motivator that I am is not quiting so here I am fulfilling my word to this blog. Write one everyday for a year. I am almost at that point with four more months to go.

Today's quote is "Happiness is your own treasure because it lies within you." Author Prem Rawat.

I like this quote. As I have said before in my postings, you are responsible for your own happiness. Look inside your soul for peace with yourself and look for happiness too.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "A good decision..."

The weekend is here and there are always lots of things to get done. I may stop by the cleaners and drop off some clothes for cleaning. Then it will be off to the mall to do some shopping and finally the usual stop at the supermarket to pick up the groceries. My nephews came over and I was just watching Big Comfy Couch on You Tube with them.

Today's quote is "A good decision is based on knowledge not on numbers." Author Plato

I agree. You need knowledge about an issue to make a good decision. Numbers are important but it is only one ingredient in the decision making process.

Friday, December 3, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The older I get..."

Back on track today. The skies are lined with what I call wallpaper clouds which are surrounding the majestic Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight through Monday are blue and white. How can I forget already? It was a cold morning and I did not wear a winter coat. Yes, I will be needing a ride home tonight as I don't plan to be super woman and brave the cold in what I am wearing.

Today's quote is "The older I get, the more I feel almost beautiful." Author Sharon Olds.

Aged to perfection comes to my mind when I think about this quote. I've lost that youthful look but I am very optimistic about my old age. I plan to keep looking good!

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "When women work..."

The day has slipped right by and there are still lots of things to get done. Guess what? I can actually see the Empire State Building lighted up and the colors are blue and white. It is a cold day but the Sun was out there. I had the pleasure of meeting up with some acquaintances for lunch and it was an enjoyable one.

Today's quote is "When women work together, it's a bond unlike any other." Author Victoria Principal.

Victoria, I could not say it better. Women help women. We are naturally compassionate and supportive. Lots more to tell about this subject later.

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I think the key..."

It's raining here in NYC and there is no sighting of the Empire State Building from where I am sitting. Hopefully, the rain will stop later so that when the Empire State Building is lighted tonight in Red, we can all see it is for World AIDS day.

Today's quote is "I think the key is for women not to set any limits." Author Martina Navratilova.

As of today, my limit is going to the Moon. I used to kid around with one of my friends about going to the Moon. If I set this as a goal, chances are, I can make it a reality then everything else happening in my life will appear as "a piece of cake". Life is not that easy but there is nothing wrong with trying.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Good things happen..."

Yes, I am getting a late start to the day cause I don't feel great and energetic like I normally do. Dark clouds surround the Empire State Building and I recall that rain maybe in the weather forecast. The color for the lights tonight is white. A few days ago I was reading a complaint from someone about the color of lights per the published schedule. I know sometimes I write that the lights will be white or some other color and then I see otherwise on TV. It is good to know that I am not the only one paying attention to the color of the lights and also that I am going crazy.

Today's quote is "Good things happen when you meet strangers." Author Yo-Yo Ma.

Absolutely positively true. Yesterday, while waiting to meet a friend, I ran into someone I met briefly a few months ago. The person recognized me and immediately we started talking about things we are doing and offering support to each other. She recommended a book for me to read and I did the same.

We will definitely be meeting again but this time we won't be strangers.

Monday, November 29, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "You must learn..."

Back to work and yes, it was a little hard getting up and out of bed. Dusty blue skies but no clouds as I look out and up at the Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight is white.

Today's quote is "You must learn from the mistakes of others. You can't possibly live long enough to make them all yourself." Author Sam Levenson.

Absolutely true. I sure don't want to make every mistake there is to make so I will follow the advice from the quote and learn from the mistakes of others.

Speaking of mistakes, the first cheesecake I made had a crack after I took it out of the oven to cool. For the second cheesecake I made on Thanksgiving day, I decided to follow directions and leave it in the oven to cool. Guess what? This cheesecake cracked too. So now I need to do some further research to find out how to stop those cracks on my cheesecakes when I make them again.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "What is important..."

The Sunday smell of food cooking in the kitchen is what got me up and out of bed this morning. I recall when growing up there was this song we listened to called "Sunday Morning Coming Down" by Johnny Cash. The smell of the food cooking took me back in time. So I got up ate my breakfast and took that stroll down the street. It is good for the soul!

Today's quote is "What is important is to believe in something so strongly that you're never discouraged." Author Salma Hayek.

In the background, the TV is on tuned in to CNN. Earlier there was a discussion on blogging and now it is an interview with Rachael Ray and her success story. A co-incidence? Who knows. Rachael Ray certainly believed in herself and look at her now.

I totally agree that it is important to strongly believe in something whatever it is and to be encouraged not be discouraged.

Diantie's Daily Quote- "I learned that the..."

There was no black Friday shopping or any shopping for me this weekend! I plan to take it easy and catch up on other chores. I will probably go out later and take in some fresh air.

Today's quote is " I learned that the only way you are going to get anywhere in life is to work hard at it. Whether you're a musician, a writer, an athlete or a businessman, there is no getting around it. If you do, you'll win - if you don't, you won't." Author Bruce Jenner.

It's been said time again and again that hard work is required for success. Yes, we entrepreneurs know this well and don't take it for granted.

Friday, November 26, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I don't see women..."

Thanksgiving is over and I sure most of us had lots to eat and some of us are already working on a weight loss plan. My Thanksgiving was quiet with no fuss. My little nephews came over during the day and one of them helped me make a cheesecake. I tasted it last night and it was good. Yes, self praise and I OK with that too.

Today's quote is "I don't see women and think of them as competition or with judgment. Women really move me. I feel connected to all kinds of women. I am angry because I think we've been mistreated through history in different countries, including America. I admire women." Author Salma Hayek.

I am glad Salma said these words. It takes a lot of self esteem and a whole lot more for some women to truly be happy with who they are and to be accepting of other women. My advice is to be proud of who you are and please please do not compare yourself to other women. This little action is enough to destroy whatever little self esteem you have. So women out there, please do not do it as it hurts you more that you know.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The secret of..."

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Yes, I slept in a little cause I needed the rest. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is in full swing and I saw a bit of it on TV a little while ago. Actually, earlier in the week there were performances on 34 Street in front the store which I happen to catch a glimpse of you too.

Lots to to do today include cooking turkey (not a whole one) that will be this weekend. I made a cheese cake a couple of months ago and it turned out great so I am giving it another try today.

Today's quote is "The secret of living in peace with all people lies in the art of understanding each one by his own individuality." Author Friedrich Ludwig Jahn

Today is a day to be thankful for everything we have. I am thankful all the time. Some people need to set aside that special moment in time to say thanks and that is OK too. I had a good year, full of surprises and eye opening experiences and there is still one more month to go.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Using the power..."

I was thankful for the amazing weather on Monday but now I am even more thankful for the fabulous weather yesterday. The day started off looking to be a raining one but last night the weather was fantastic. Last night was one of those few occasions where I get to see the Empire State Building from a different view and all lighted up. The view was stunning. Now as I look up at the sky, I can see the usually white clouds passing by the Empire State Building. The colors for the lights tonight through Sunday night are red, orange and yellow in honor of Thanksgiving.

Today's quote is "Using the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change any and every part of your life in an instant." Author Tony Robbins.

There are certain characteristic that people see and like in other people. I recall a former co-worker telling me that she admired someone because the person was decisive. I thought that was interesting because I am far from a procrastinator so naturally I assume everyone was like that.

Making decisions is not an easy process as it appears on the surface. Yes, some simple decisions can be made in a few seconds but others require a long thoughtful process. Why? Depends on the situation.

As an entrepreneur, I meet many people trying to convince me to do this or that and I get the sales pitch quite often. This is part of the networking process and I accept that. What I don't do is to allow people to force me to make a decision when I have not given the issue any thought.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I am really blessed..."

I am attempting to change a few things about the way I start my day. More to come on this later. Yesterday was a gorgeous day weather wise and I was truly surprise and thankful for it too. Right now I see only dark clouds that cover the entire skyline and it looks like rain can happen at any minute. The Empire State Building is in full view and the lights are white for tonight.

Today's quote is "I am really blessed and very grateful for it." Author Pam Grier

The probing question is - how do you know when you are blessed? Each of us may have a different answer but for me it was the little things that were happening in my life that brought me to this realization. Notice I said little things not big extravagant things.

A while back I was talking to some people about my role model when I was young girl and how much I wanted to be like her. One of the ways I know I am blessed is that I was able to do a couple of things that she did.

As an adult, I don't have a role model because I became "Me" but I still keep my eyes open for those characteristics in other women that I can use myself.

I can't count the amount of times I have said that I am blessed and I am very very grateful too.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Too many people..."

Various levels of clouds surround the Empire State Building, each moving at a different pace. Kinda like what you see when you are in a plane up there above the clouds. The color for the lights tonight are orange and white.

Today's quote is "Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are." Author Malcolm Forbes.

The second part of the quote I can say relates to me. A couple of months ago I was asked to write an elevator speech and test it on a few people which I did. One on my co-workers hated what I wrote. She said "you are so much better than this." I reminded her I only had 30 seconds for the pitch. This was a great exercise because it is hard to "self praise" yourself.

Then a few weeks later, I overhead a conversation where someone was saying he undervalues himself. It felt better to know that I was not alone but it does not help the situation that most of us do it; especially entrepreneurs.

To fix this, I decided that I needed "to put my foot down" and say this is what I am worth. Actually, I already did so and it felt great.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "It's no secret..."

Sunday morning is here I have tons of things to do. My goal is get started as early as possible and at least accomplish a few things. Sunshine is happening outside but I recall that the weather report saying it will be cold too. No venturing out today for me.

Today's quote is "It's no secret that I love to talk, but the real secret is I love to listen, too." Author Kathie Lee Gifford.

Yes, Kathie, those of us who know you from the "Regis and Kathie" knows you love to talk. And yes, you are right, your secret is that you like to listen. I talked about listening last week in one of my blogs.

A few days ago I was in meeting and by the slip of the tongue, the person I was talking to happen to mention something that immediately told me exactly what the outcome of the meeting will be. It is amazing how quickly I realized the little hope I had for something productive to come out of this meeting, came to screeching halt.

I had my listening skills on and heard clearly what being said to me. On my way home from the meeting, I reflected on what had just happen. So did I learn anything from the experience, yes I did, and that is a secret!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "We are suppose..."

The color of the lights on the Empire State Building is something that I have been posting on my blog for a few weeks. At night when I working on my computer, I might occasionally get a glance of the weather report where a scene of the Empire State Building all lighted is shown. Last night was one of those occasions. I saw multi colors and was a little surprise as the schedule said the lights will be white. So much for relying on the schedule. As I don't know what to expect, I will skip posting the colors until the schedule is updated.

Today's quote is "We are suppose to enjoy the good stuff now, while we can, with the people we love. Life has a funny way of teaching us that lesson over and over again." Author Sheena Easton.

This is a very true quote but no matter how many times we here it or whether or not it is ingrained in our brains, we still tend to make the mistake of missing out on "important" events meaningful to our lives.

I think I wrote about my experience in college when this was happening to me as my education came first and I did not let anything else get in the way. Now I select the events that I want to participate it and accept the decision the I make.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "There are people..."

We all have had those mornings where we set aside time to take care of a problem and just when we think "this is it" now I am ready to get on with my day, out of the blues another problem surfaces. I was pulling out of the driveway and it heard this scraping noise. I immediately thought I had a flat tire and so much for getting to the train station on time. Yes, it was another problem with the car but today is not the day to take care of it.

Nice blue skies surround the Empire State Building and no clouds in sight but sunshine rays beaming down from up above. The color for the lights are again white until Sunday.

Today's quote is "There are people who, instead of listening to what is being said to them, are already listening to what they are going to say themselves." Author Albert Guinon.

So how true is this? Come on, most of us done it at least once. Listening is a skill. My financial advisor has superb listening skills this is why he is so successful not only in business but also in relationships with others. I have learnt a thing or two from him that has help me with resolving problems.

Yes, listening works and it is one of the most powerful tools to employ. Use it!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Just don't give up..."

Blue skies and patches of clouds passing slowing over the Empire State Building. Reflections of the Sun appear on a few buildings as I look outside. The color for the lights tonight are white.

Today's quote is "Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong." Author Ella Fitzgerald

Well said and cherish words for all entrepreneurs to hold dear. I may have said this before, but when you see people in action who love what they do, it is amazing. Loving what you do brings out the best in us. We even become contagious with our enthusiasm as we do what we love.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "One never notices..."

Nice weather to start the day off. I look outside and see the trees swaying back and forth which makes me want to be out there taking in the fresh air and the breeze. As I look up at the Empire State Building, I see dark and white clouds quickly passing by as if they are on a journey to get some where. Now I definitely have to go outside at lunch time. The color for the lights tonight are purple and white.

Today's quote is "One never notices what has been done; one can see only what remains to be done." Author Marie Curie.

This is such a true statement and I am sure many of you have tons of instances when this has happen to you. For me it was when I was renovating my kitchen years ago and there were still a few things remaining to get done. One observer quickly pointed out "what happen to this, this and this" as the areas that were not completed as yet. My brother heard as this was going on and noted how quickly the person making the comments found nothing good to say.

As I said, it has happened over and over again to many of us. So what do you do? You can ignore the person or can play along and say yes, we are still working on it. I am interested in hearing how other people handle this situation.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "You become a better..."

Another day of dark clouds but the Empire State Building is still slightly visible. The color for the lights is again white.

Today's quote is "You become a better writer by writing. You become a better travel writer by writing about travel." Author Tim Cahill.

In college, writing was not one of my favorite subjects especially when I had to do research. After I started writing a few papers, I got hooked on it and actually enjoyed it. My Fine Arts teacher give me a list of guidelines as to how to write term papers. Needless to say that I aced her class. So I agree with the quote that you become a better writer by writing. I like writing this blog and even though the goal is write about the quotes for a year, I may extend my deadline after April 9, 2011.

I met a few people that write for a living and I have to say that I love their work. I don't know of anyone who will pay me to write, but it does not mean I shouldn't look.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Then no matter..."

Back on track and hoping to stay on track with this blog. A mixture of dark and white clouds are blocking my view of the Empire State Building. It appears there is a tint of sunlight out there but no sighting of the Sun. The color for the lights tonight are white.

Today's quote is "Then no matter what goes on around you in the physical universe, hang on to what you know." Author Lindsay Wagner.

I like Lindsay Wagner. I remember watching her as Bionic Woman many years ago.

It is interesting that I found this quote today. Over the weekend I heard someone say "I know what I speak." I say be observant and be open to new ideas but don't let go of your principles and values.

Diantie's Daily Quote "You can't wait ..."

It is evening time and I had a busy weekend. The color for the lights tonight on the Empire State Building are blue and white. I saw the Empire State Building tonight and I don't recall seeing blue but I did see white.

Today's quote is "You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." Author Jack London.

All entrepreneurs can relate to this one I hope. Yes, we go out there and go after our dreams and yes, we also have fears but it is the inspiration that gets us going to take the first steps.

Tomorrow I will be back on track and now I am inspired to start creating my own quotes. Hooray for inspiration!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "All I can tell..."

Yes, I did not write a quote yesterday and it is not because I forgot but because I was not able to get to a computer. So today I will post the quote for yesterday and separately, the quote for today.

Yesterday's quote is "All I can tell you really is if you get to the point where someone is telling you that you are not great or not good enough, just follow your heart and don't let anybody crush your dream." Author Patti LaBelle.

I like her and I think this is a great quote and I intend to follow her advice.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Success consists of ..."

It's Friday and it started off to be a nice day. Nice blue skies surround the Empire State Building and the color for the lights tonight are blue and white.

Today's quote is "Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." Author Winston Churchill.

It takes a lot of guts to fail repeatedly and still keep going. If money is not issue, then we would all be totally enthusiastic about jumping into another venture after we had several failed ones. Yes, I know, lots of the successful people has failed before they became a success.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.Winston Churchill

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The chief difference..."

Again I am late getting to this blog. Busy day! Nice blue skies surround the Empire State Building and the colors for the lights tonight are red, white and blue for veterans days. Thank you to all our Vets who have served us over the years so that we can enjoy the life we live.

Today's quote is " The chief difference between words and deeds is that words are always intended for men for their approbation, but deeds can be done only for God." Author Leo Tolstoy.

Well said. I guess there is a connect between the good work out Vets did for us as a "good deed" and God.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Leadership appears to be..."

Yes, the quote is late today. Too busy getting other things done such as attending a class and happy to report that I learnt a few new things today. The skies are now a dusty blue and there are no clouds over the Empire State Building but a slight reflection of the Sun setting. The color for the lights tonight is white.

Today's quote is "Leadership appears to be the art of getting others to want to do something you are convinced should be done." Author Vince Packard.

OK, I will agree a little with this quote but leadership is much more than that. How about responsibility and taking ownership? Rallying the troops is only one attribute of a leader.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The trouble with..."

Nice blue skies surround the Empire State Building but no sighting of the Sun. It is a little chilly here in NYC but it will warm up later. The colors for the lights tonight are blue, pink and yellow.

Today's quote is " The trouble with being punctual is that nobody's there to appreciate it." Author Franklin P. Jones.

Maybe nobody is there when you arrive early but people do appreciate those who are punctual. How many times have we been on group trips and we were all waiting or searching for someone because he/she was late? Too many times! I'd say the people who are punctual appreciate the fact that others are too.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "There are two things..."

Day light saving time began yesterday and it felt great to have an extra hour to get things done. Today in New York City it is overcast and windy and it will probably rain later. Only dark clouds surround the Empire State Building. The colors of the light for tonight are green, white and red for the opening night of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Today's Quote is "There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second." Author Logan Pearsall Smith.

Very true statement. It is true that some of us get what we want but then don't enjoy it or don't have the time to enjoy it. I want to be part of mankind that achieve the second.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The way of devotion..."

The NYC Marathon is now in process. Last year I was out cheering for American Cancer Society and also all the other runners as well. It was the first time I had seen the NYC Marathon in action and it was great! Today, I am not able to go out and cheer but I took a little jog this morning and it was cold. The color for the lights on the Empire State building tonight are orange, white and blue for the 2010 NYC ING Marathon.

Today's quote is "The way of devotion is as good as the way of knowledge. But as long as God keeps the feeling of ego in us, it is easier to follow the path of devotion." Hindu quote.

OK , I have to say it is a matter of opinion. My view is that it is great to be devoted to whatever you do even if it is religion; just don't become obsessed over it.

Go Marathon athletes!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "In your striving ..."

It is starting off to be a nice sunshine day and it is also a little chilly. As always all the weekend chores need to get done and I have to challenge myself to prepare some sweets or maybe I will just cook a meal. The color for the lights on the Empire State building are again white, red and yellow.

Today's quote is "In your striving, be mindful to preserve good conduct. In your deliberations, discover it is your staunchest ally." Hindu quote.

Great quote. I don't think most people start their day off by pledging to make others miserable and by provoking them. When people are passionate about a cause, they put their heart and soul into their cause even if it means fighting a battle and disagreeing with friends and family in the process.

Good conduct is wonderful but unfortunately we do not always have control over certain situations we are placed in to constantly remain calm and collected.

For Diwali yesterday I did clean up those leaves and did a good job if I do say so myself. I made a little dinner and lighted my tea candles. I was pleased with accomplishing my little tasks and my tea candles looked great outside and got my neighbors talking too.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The wise see ..."

It is an overcast day here in NYC. Dark clouds lines the sky and I can actually see the Empire State Building. The colors for the lights tonight are white, red and yellow.

Today's quote is "The wise see the Lord of Love in the Sun, rising in all its golden radiance, to give its warmth and light and life to all." Quotation Prashna Upanishad.

Happy Diwali to all my fellow Hindu devotees. Known as "The Festival of Lights", Diwali is celebrated by Hindus all over the world. Tonight we light our diyas and place them at certain areas of our home to welcome "Lakshmi" the goddess of wealth into our homes. I found this picture of a greeting card on the internet. I hope the owner don't mind me using it to show what is a "diya".

In India, thousands of people will flock to various temples to give an offering to "Lakshmi". Lots of sweet foods will prepare and eaten today. Cleanliness is imperative. Days are spend cleaning up our homes to have it ready for when "Lakshmi" comes to visit.

As a tradition, lots of people take the day off from work but today I am working. My first task at hand when I go home tonight is clean up the leaves from the driveway and the outside stairs. I will also prepare a simple vegetarian meal. I don't follow the tradition of lighting diyas but instead, I light tea candles and they burn for hours. Tomorrow I may challenge myself to prepare a few sweet things.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I'm please with..."

It's raining in NYC and my view is dark clouds and no sighting of the Empire State Building. The color for the lights tonight is Green for NYC Youth and Community Development - National Runaway Prevention Month. Excellent cause!

Today's quote is "I'm please with my life, with the journey." Author Tina Turner.

How many of us can say that? I think some of are satisfied with our journey and others or not. Some of us would have liked to change a few things that happened to us along the way and others hoped for better experiences.

I like Tina Turner and I glad she is pleased with her life.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Be true to ..."

The Sun has already risen and passed to the right of the Empire State Building. The skies are blue with a dusty white coating of clouds. The color for the light tonight are White.

Today's quote is "Be true to your work, your word, and your friend." Author Henry David Thoreau.

It's interesting this is the quote for today. This morning my train buddies and I were talking about being true to your word. One of them mentioned that she promised to send a picture of Taylor Swift performing to a few people she met at the airport. Yes, she did send the pictures because she said she would. Some us of take our "word" seriously while others do not. At times circumstances prevent us from keeping our "word" but most people understand when you tell them so rather than not saying anything at all. You should definitely be true to your friends as well; you need them even if you feel you don't. It is a given that you should be true to work; A lot of take pride in our work!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "There came into ..."

Nice clear blue skies is what I am looking at right now outside my window. No clouds passing over the Empire State Building but there is a trail of smoke from what appears to be a small plane passing by. The color for the lights tonight are guessed it - Red White and Blue for election day.

Today's quote is "There came into the world an unlimited abundance of everything people need. But people need everything except unlimited abundance." Author Karel Capek.

Very true a statement and well said. Yes, there is an unlimited abundance of everything we need. And yes, we do not need an unlimited abundance of everything. Contentment is a powerful trait to have.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "It takes too ..."

Yesterday was a perfect day for Halloween and it did get colder last night as predicted. The children came and got their candy and we gave away all the little packages that we made. If a few more children had come, we would have been in trouble. Right now the Sun is slowing rising up to the right of the Empire State Building ; it is so bright, I can't even look outside. The colors for the lights tonight are purple, blue and yellow.

Today's quote is "It takes too much energy to be against something unless it's really important." Author Madeleine L'Engle.

I know that only too well. Yes, if something is that important to you and also to others, it is definitely worth the energy to stand up for your beliefs.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Flowers are happy..."

It is starting off to be a nice sunshine day but it will get colder later. So to all the trick or treaters, come out early for your candy. The color for the lights on the Empire State Building tonight are again white, black and orange for Halloween.

Today's quote is "Flowers are happy things." Author P.G. Wodehouse.

A short, simple and to the point quote. Yes, we all like flowers and can't help admiring them when and wherever we see them. Flowers are used for many purposes. In my religion, flowers are used as an offering.

About the candy, yes, we bought the candy yesterday but did not have much of a choice so we had to settle for what was in store. The little bags are already made and awaiting the takers.

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "We are made wise."

Sunshine, a little chill but otherwise it appears to be a nice day. Last night I saw on TV that the Empire State Building was indeed lighted up green and the weather person raised the question as why it was lighted up that color. Tonight and tomorrow night the colors are orange, black and white for halloween.

Today's quote is "We are made wise not by the recollection of our past but by the responsibility for our future." Author George Bernard Shaw.

Yes, I totally agree. As an accountant, I can't help tooting "financial responsibility" and I hold myself accountable to this standard too!

No candy for halloween has been bought so it is first on the list of "to do". Even thought we don't get dressed up for halloween, we make sure the kids have plenty of candy when they come "trick or treating".

Friday, October 29, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "We are shaped..."

Yet another cloudy start to the day with no sighting of the Sun. No blobs of clouds passing over the Empire State Building; just dark clouds appearing as "still life". The color for the lights tonight is green.

Today's quote is "We are shaped and fashioned by what we love." Author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Interesting perspective. Don't we all love to see people in action who are passionate about what they do? It is amazing to watch. You can immediately tell the people who enjoy what they do versus the people that don't. "Fashioned" is a perfect word for those in that industry. These people are unique and find a way to distinguish themselves with something as simple as one piece of an accessory.

Yes, I would spend money to get dressed up for a charity event. And yes, I also give my money to charity. Yesterday I won a little prize from a raffle when I donated money to a charity. Working for charity is what I love to do!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Motivation is what..."

I have been glancing out and up at the sky for the past 20 minutes and there is this batch of clouds in small blobs passing over the Empire State Building. The scene looks like wallpaper. And the Sun is fighting to pierce its way through the clouds but it seems that the clouds are winning for now. The color for the lights tonight is blue.

Today's quote is "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." Author Jim Ryun.

Talking about habit - how many people get into their cars, pull out of the driveway, and head towards their daily routine path but ... on a weekend? Guilty! Yes, many times, I should be headed in one direction and ended up driving my routine path because of habit. When I realize I am heading in the wrong direction, I turn to my sister and asked why she did not stop me.

Motivation is great and wonderful and I'm an avid believer in it!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "It is a great ability..."

It is 1.45pm in NYC right now, otherwise known as early afternoon. The weather has taken several turns for the day so far. First it was a light drizzle, then sunshine with some patches of blue skies, now it is dark clouds passing over the Empire State Building. The color of lights for tonight is again white.

Today's quote is "It is a great ability to be able to conceal one's ability." Author Francois de La Rochefoucauld.

Yes, that's true; it is a great ability. At times it is necessary not to conceal one's ability. Whenever someone gets ill on a plane, a call goes out for a Doctor. There are times when people with special skills don't want to be bothered so they try to conceal themselves in public. But at the end of the day, when help is needed, we all jump in.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Balance, peace, and joy..."

It is interesting that when I write this blog in the morning, there always seemed to be clouds hoovering over the Empire State Building. Later in the day, the clouds usually disappear. Today is no different. No sighting of the Sun. The color for the lights tonight is again white.

Today's quote is "Balance, peace, and joy are the fruit of a successful life. It starts with recognizing your talents and finding ways to serve others by using them." Author Thomas Kinkade.

Nice quote and quite true. We hear it all the time "balance life" but most of us don't have one. The many activities in our lives cause us to focus on what is important at that point in time while other things are neglected. Hip Hip Hooray to those who have a balance life. We all want one.

Today the tally for the blogs written is 201. Wow! I am more than half way there. I have to start planning my next challenge!

Monday, October 25, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I only go out..."

White clouds are passing over the Empire State Building while the Sun has already passed by and started its journey around the Earth. The colors for the lights tonight through Wednesday are white.

Today's quote is " I only go out to get me a fresh appetite for being alone." Author Lord Byron.

Wow! We all know people who would rather be alone and we also know people that cannot be alone. Some people need to have friends around them all the time and others don't.

Depending on the task at hand, I like my "Me Only Time". I also like to be around people too. Last week I was telling stories and laughing my head off about things that had happen to me. I was even more entertained when the guys I was talking to started telling their stories. Human interaction is great! This goes to show that we have different appetites at different times.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - " We ten to forget..."

Nice day today and so will be most of the week. Halloween is almost here and no candy has been bought as yet. The colors of the light on the Empire State Building will be purple and white.

Today's quote is "Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer it. Life is love - enjoy it." Author Sai Baba.

Well said and definitely words to think about. Lots of things to get done now.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "It is only possible..."

According to the weather report, it should be a nice weekend weather wise and this nice weather will continue into next week. The color for the lights of the Empire State Building for tonight is again red.

Today's quote is "It is only possible to live happily ever after on a day to day basis." Author Margaret Bonnano.

Very true. Can't add much to that. Yesterday I met a celebrity, so yes, I did enjoy yesterday. More to come about this later!

Enjoy your today to the fullest. I plan to do that too!

Friday, October 22, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "You must be a lotus..."

The Sun in my eyes is what's happening right now as I try to write this blog. The skies are definitely blue and I can't even look up at the Empire State Building as the Sun is too over powering. The colors for the lights tonight are Red in honor of "Reading".

Today's quote is "You must be a lotus, unfolding its petals when the sun rises in the sky, unaffected by the slush where it is born or even the water which sustains it!" Author Sai Baba.

When it comes to principles and values, absolutely, be unaffected by what else is happening. The environment we live in is constantly changing and it is not smart to be a flower and ignore what's happening around you especially injustices.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Being powerful is ..."

A beautiful scene is what appears in the skies over the Empire State Building. A few passing clouds and sunshine all contribute to the nice blue skies. The color of the lights on the Empire State Building for tonight are yellow.

Today's quote is "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't. " Author Margaret Thatcher.

An interesting perspective about being powerful and being a lady. Yes, I have to agree with the quote.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I think that the ..."

Looking out and up at the Empire State Building, my sightings are white clouds drifting across the skies and a slight reflection of the Sun onto the surrounding buildings. There is also a trail of smoke, which looks like a wiggly tail, from a plane soaring its way up into the skies. The color for lights tonight is again white.

Today's quote is "I think that the good and the great are only separated by the willingness to sacrifice." Author Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Well said. We all know people that are not willing to make sacrifices in order to accomplish goals in life. Many of us have made great sacrifices to get what we want and need. Yesterday I was talking to my college classmate about the sacrifices we made when we attended college. I recall she bringing her young daughter to school one day. Looking back at the challenges we faced, we both felt they were necessary that is why we can survive in this tough economy.

While neither of us consider ourselves great, we both know we have accomplished a lot through the sacrifices that we made.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Don't wait around..."

An hour ago the view from my window of what's happening in skies would have been dark clouds above the Empire State Building. But now the Sun has taken control and the view is nice blue skies. What a difference an hour makes! The color for the lights are again white.

Today's quote is "Don't wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get you've got to make yourself." Author Alice Walker.

My quotes this past weekend were also about happiness. Yes, it is true that you should not wait for people to be happy for you. It is a nice feeling to know that people are happy for you but don't count on it all the time!

Monday, October 18, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Opinions are made..."

Sunshine, clouds and a trail of smoke from a passing airplane are all the things being seen as I look out at the Empire State Building. Again the color for the lights are white.

Today's quote is "Opinions are made to be changed - or how is truth to be got at?." Author Lord Byron.

Opinions, yes we all have them, and yes, we do change them as well. But changing your opinion to get to the truth seems a little puzzling to me. Maybe because the person who is changing his/her opinion did not know what the truth was in the first place. Interesting!

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Most folks are about..."

Absolutely beautiful day today. Sunshine and a slight touch of the breeze. The color for the Empire State Building is white but I am certain that I saw white and blue lights last night on TV.

Today's quote is "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Author Lincoln.

Yes, that's true. As Groucho Marx said - "I have just one day, today, and I am going to be happy in it".

So back to those of us that are happy. I joined the ten thousand plus walkers this morning at Jones Beach for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk. It was great to do it and it was my first time and I hope to do it again next year provided the weather is nice.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "If you are to be happy..."

It's sure windy out there and the weather prediction was right on target. It is also expected to be a sunshine day. The color for the Empire State Building is again white.

Today's quote is "If you are to be happy at all, you must be happy - period! Not happy "because of"." Author Maxwell Maltz.

Well said! My view is that you are responsible for your own happiness as mentioned before.

You have today - be happy in it.

Friday, October 15, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "I want to work..."

Yes, it is another day of of clouds passing above the Empire State Building and the ferocious Sun is piercing its way through the clouds to control the skies. The colors for tonight are again white.

Today's quote is " I want to work with great people. Great people really make you better." Author Dennis Quaid.

Yes, I believe that is a very true statement. And I am glad he said "I want to work with..". It is hard "to work for" as opposed to "work with" great people. I am sure everyone out there have his/her own stories to tell about "working with" and "working for".

I have to get a digital camera to take pictures of the way the skies change during the few minutes as I write this blog. It is amazing!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Good judgment comes..."

It's nice to know that I am not alone in staring up at the sky. Right now as I write this blog, there are a few clouds passing above the Empire State Building and that wonderful reflection of the Sun I wrote about a few weeks ago is happening again. The weather prediction is rain for later today. The colors for tonight are again white.

Today's quote is "Good judgment comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgment." Author Rita Mae Brown.

That's why many times we seek out experienced people for advice about certain issues. Those people may have already made those "bad judgment" calls so we can learn from their errors. Great quote!

So back to staring up in the sky. Yesterday in NYC in the Chelsea area, there were sightings of mysterious objects in the sky. As reported in NY Post, Tim Powell said it was "the most bizarre thing I have ever seen." "I saw five or six light shining in the sky. There was no way that thing was a balloon" said Peter Bryant.

What was it? Don't know. But yesterday evening I was walking along seventh avenue toward that area and I saw this helicopter hoovering above. That caught my attention!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Set your goals high..."

Yet another busy day today! Blue skies and no clouds around the Empire State Building. The color for tonight is again white.

Today's quote is "Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there." Author Bo Jackson.

Well said. Speaking of goals, I have lots of them that I am slowly working on.

So who has not yet tuned in for an update as to how the rescue mission is going for the miners in Chile? Last night I stayed up beyond midnight to watch the efforts and it is truly amazing. My sister stayed up with me and we were both busy analyzing the situation and the mechanisms that were in play. Again amazing work and brains too.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Nobody got anywhere..."

My day is almost over and I am now getting to this blog. The skies are cloudy and there is no sight of the Sun anywhere near the Empire State Building. The color for tonight is white.

Today's quote is "Nobody got anywhere in the world by simply being content." Author Louis L'Amour.

Very true! It's wonderful to be adventurous and it's great to strive for other and better ways to do things. Yesterday was Columbus Day and he was definitely set on exploration. Contentment is good for certain areas of our lives and it helps us to be happy.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "In the end..."

Now the Sun is behind the Empire State Building and its beams are piercing through the clouds. In a few minutes, the Sun will definitely rise above the clouds and show its face. The colors that the Empire State Building will be lighted up in tonight are red, white and green for Columbus Day.

Today's quote is "In the end, it's not the years in your life that counts. It's the life in your years." Author Abraham Lincoln.

Well said. My two cents is that if I live to 70, I hope to have as much much energy as some of the people I know today who have attained that age. At that point for me, it would be the life in my years.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Being a woman..."

Sunday morning is here and still lots of things to do. Sleep late was definitely on the "to do list".
The colors of the lights on the Empire State Building is still the same as Friday; they will be chnaged tomorrow.

Today's quote is "Being a woman is a terribly difficult task since it consists principally in dealing with men." Author Joseph Conrad.

Wow! Yes it is a difficult task but when there is no choice, the smart thing to do is try to get along even though you have your own prejudices.

Some women may argue that it is just as difficult to deal with women. Think "The Devil Wears Prada". Lots of women out there can definitely relate to this.

Have a nice day.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The only gift..."

Saturday, the weekend, and sleeping late are some of the things we look forward to. The weather forecast is that it is expected to be a nice day. No driving out to the Hamptons for me! By the way, even though there is no sighting of the Empire State Building on weekends, it will be lighted up in the same colors as last night.

Today's quote is "The only gift is a portion of thyself." Author Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Most of us do this all the time. When we volunteer to help someone or a charity we are giving a portion of ourselves. It is easy to give to money, but giving of yourself is much harder. Ask any millionaire out there how he/she handles this issue when faced with it?

Plans for today - a few errands to run; get some exercise; send e-mails to my friends; and yes, there maybe some time to finish reading a book.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Motivation is simple...."

Sunglasses may be required given all those sun rays that are beaming down at my desk and also into my eyes. Yes, I can't look up at the Empire State Building as the Sun is having its say. It's amazing how the weather took a complete turn yesterday from the cloudy skies and tiny rain drops to a beautiful sunshine day. I forgot that on the news at night, sometimes the weather person shows a picture of the Empire State Building and talks about the occasion it's lighted up for. Maybe I should start doing that too. So here goes - tonight through Sunday night the colors will be orange, yellow and red for the 15th anniversary of Publicolor day.

Today's quote is "Motivation is simple. You eliminate those who are not motivated." Author Lou Holtz.

Not much I can add to that except maybe try a little encouragement to get the person motivated. Yes, I have a story to tell. I may have mentioned this before, but years ago I volunteered to be a counselor for some high school students. We were staying at Hofstra University beginning on a Saturday. On Monday morning just as the bus was about to pull out to take us on a field trip, one the girls decided she wanted to go home. I told her to give the program a chance and go on the trip then let me know at the end of the day how she felt. You guess right! She decided to stay! Various games were played and she was on the winning team. Naturally, at the end of the program, I asked if she was happy that she stayed and she said yes. I met her mother who told me she was shy but pleased that her daughter stayed for the entire program.

Moral of the story - give a little encouragement!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "There's no secret..."

Little drops of rain; cloudy skies; a little chill. These are some of the reminders that Fall is here. In the Fall, I actually like to drive on the highway when the Sun is shining and leaves are turning brown and there is just a slight chill in the air. Empire State Building is in full sight and it seems like the Sun is fighting to push the clouds away. Who shall win - to be determined.

Today's quote is "There's no secret about success. Did you ever know a successful man who didn't tell you about it?" Author Kin Hubbard.

Very true. Successful people talk about their journey and the trials and tribulations they experienced. Some success stories are similar and others are quite unique.

My success story is staying employed for most of my life!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "No matter how far..."

Don't know the weather forecast for today but right now clouds are passing above the Empire State Building but I also happen to see signs of blue sky and guess what? Now it's reflections of the Sun so I guess I can conclude that it is looking to be a nice day!

Today's quote is "No matter how far you have gone on a wrong road, turn back." Turkish Proverb.

I love this quote. Actually that happen to me last weekend when I took that drive out to the Hamptons. I got a little confuse when I was driving so I turned around, went down another road and quickly realized I was definitely going in wrong direction. Yes, I turned around and saw a car pulled over on the side of the road. I concluded that we were all headed to the same place so I asked. And yes, we were all going to the Hamptons marathon. The nice couple got their bearings together and I followed behind.

As the runners completed their course, I spotted the couple walking by and I quickly went over and thanked them for guiding me to my destination. Now what are the odds; hundreds of people participating in this marathon and I saw the couple again.

This is just one example of turning back. The key is to recognize and acknowledge that you are headed in the wrong direction. The best decision is to turn back!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "We may encounter..."

It's an overcast day here in New York City and there is a vague sighting of the Empire State Building. On a few occasions, I get to see the skyscraper lighted up at night. It's a beautiful sight.

Today's quote is "We may encounter defeat but we must not be defeated." Author Maya Angelou.

We all encounter defeat and most us get back up on our feet and try again. And yes, sometimes we have to accept that we were defeated.

My two cents is to keep trying at something until you succeed! Especially if what you are trying to achieve is achievable!

Monday, October 4, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Follow your instincts..."

What does weather has in store for NYC? Right now clouds are passing over the Empire State Building and it was raining earlier. Let's hope for a fair day.

Today's quote is "Follow your instincts - you never know if your ideas will work out unless you try them." Author Lulu Guinness.

Yes, that's definitely true for most of us as we do not have a crystal ball to tell us what the future holds. Yes, I have a few ideas that I will put to the test!

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Insist on yourself...."

Another slightly chilly morning. In a few minutes it will be time to get outside and get all errands done which were set aside from yesterday. No venturing out to the Hamptons today!

Today's quote is "Insist on yourself. Never imitate." Author Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Early last week someone gave me a quote with the same advice. And it is interesting because that person recognized that I am different so the quote was positive reinforcement.

What do you all think about these articles titled "Who wore it best?" I try not to be caught in who wore it best. Many years ago I had this plaid grey suit that I wore to work. When a new attorney joined the firm, she had the same suit and yes, we all noticed. The nice thing about this is that we both never wore it on the same day.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "If music be the ..."

The day is almost over and what a day it was! A little bit cold, then sunshine and now back to the chill.

Today's quote is "If music be the fool of love; play on..." Author Shakespeare from Twelfth Night.

What I did not say in my first few sentences is that my day actually started at 3.30 am this morning. Why? I drove out to East Hampton to volunteer for the American Cancer Society at the Hamptons Marathon. So if you are a runner with ACS, chances are, we saw each other at the check-in or check-out.

So what does music have to do with all this? There was a DJ playing the music to entertain us and he did a fabulous job. While I was there, I thought about what it would have been like without the music and I envision this hot miserable day. Even though I was on my feet for almost 8 hours, I felt fine and didn't have a complaint!

My other good deed for the day? I went over and thanked the DJ for the wonderful music which helped make my day a good one.

And yes, I thanked the runners as well for raising thousands of dollars for ACS.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Write to be ..."

Once more the New York City areas has been drenched with rain. It is still raining out there but the optimistic person in me says that the rain will probably stop by the evening; or should I say, I hope it stop by the evening. Believe it not, I can actually see the Empire State Building but very faintly as the clouds pass by.

Today's quote is "Write to be understood, speak to be heard, read to grow." Author Lawrence Clark Powell.

It is interesting that this is the "Quote of the day". Yesterday my co-worker and I were talking about writing and speaking so that a ten year old can understand. I try to write using simple words and sometimes it is hard to form simple sentences. Guess that means I am not a writer but I can tell stories!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Realize from the ..."

So I am a little late getting to this blog and again we are having a raining day in NYC. No sighting of the Empire State Building and thunder storms are expected for later this evening.

Today's quote is "Realize from the start, every activity that comprises the journey has value and the ability to teach you something." Author Bill Toomey.

Wow! I like this quote. I have travelled a few journeys in the past five years and learnt lots of things. Right now I am on a journey and don't know how it's going to play out, but hoping for the best.

I read on the internet that a new planet has been discovered. Wonderful!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "To find fulfillment..."

The Sun is having its say after two days of rain and clouds. Yes, it is pushing its beams down from the sky all the way to my desk. There were a few clouds in the sky passing by the Empire State Building, but the Sun held its ground indicating that "I'm in Charge".

Today's quote is "To find fulfillment...don't exist with life - embrace it." Author Jim Beggs.

Absolutely. Some of us have heard the saying "Take life and grab it by the horn". That's what we all should do. Be a little adventurous; it is good for the soul!

Other things happening the world - Gold is at a new high! October maybe a cautious month for investors.

Diantie's Daily Quote - Tread softly because..."

It is currently overcast and cloudy in NYC but I can see the majestic Empire State Building. The weather says thunder storms not just rain.

Today's quote is "Tread softly because you tread on dreams ." Author William Butler Yeats.

Many entrepreneurs and others alike will tell you in exact words what other people said about their dreams. I will reserve my feedback for later. The gist of it is that most people don't support you with open arms.

But then there are these wonderful success stories where siblings team up and help each other and share in success of the venture. Other stories are where friends help each other. Take the Microsoft and Facebook beginnings.

Moral, the next time someone wants to tell you about their dreams, listen and be supportive!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The charitable give..."

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down. Yes, that is what's happening right now! Again, no sighting of Empire State Building which is once more overcome by clouds.

Today's quote is "The charitable give out the door and God puts it back through the window." Proverb.

I gave away a few things recently; not with the expectation that I would get something in return, but because I had no need for the things and other people did. If I happen to get something through the window, I will be reporting it.

Back to rain. I still have a few errands to get done today so later on, I have to take my chances and go outside and get them done rain or no rain.

Sunday, September 26, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Optimism is the..."

The sun disappeared so now it is cloudy outside and very humid. Lots of chores to get done today and the action plan is to get them all done.

Today's quote is "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." Author Helen Keller.

Are my fellow entrepreneurs reading and hearing the message in this quote? Last night I was working on setting up my calendar for the next 30 days and it is interesting how many things need to get done and the only free time seems to be Sunday. Time management skills and to do lists here I come!

Saturday, September 25, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "All achievements,.."

So I am a little exhausted and passed up on the exercise routine. I am doing some writing and ending up dreaming about it. Too much on my mind. Breakfast is being prepared for me while I write this blog.

Today's quote is "All achievements, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea." Author Napolean Hill.

Yes, I agree with this quote. We have all heard our friends say at some time or another "I have an idea" and he/she goes on to tell us about the idea. Some people have ideas and keep it to themselves as they are afraid someone will steal their idea. Most of us know of someone who have had that happen to them.

I have a few ideas that I hope to put into action. Will someone steal my idea and run with it? Absolutely, from the moment I reveal what it is. Am I afraid? No, but I want to at least give it a chance.

Lots of errands to run today. It should be a nice day weather wise.

Friday, September 24, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "From his cradle..."

Guess what folks? There is so sighting of the Empire State Building! That's right. My view of the skyscraper has been hindered by the clouds. A high of 87 degrees is the weather prediction; we shall see and definitely feel.

Today's quote is "From his cradle to his grave a man never does a single thing which has any first and foremost object but one - to secure peace of mind, spiritual comfort, for himself." Author Mark Twain.

No need for a poll here. Yes, we all want peace of mind. Who knows someone that wakes up in the morning and says that he/she wants to be miserable today?

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "True happiness is ..."

Last Thursday is was the Tornadoes and the MacroBlast. What was that last night? Right now it is nice and sunny here in NYC and yes, I saw the Sun rising to the right of the Empire State Building.

Today's quote is "True happiness is ... to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future." Author Lucius Annaeus Seneca.

Fabulous piece of advice. As Groucho Marx says "...I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." Me too!

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "A man with a watch..."

Missed the morning views of the Empire State Building. Nothing happening out there right now.

Today's quote is "A man with a watch knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure." Author Segal's law.

Yes, I have to agree with this quote and I actually smiled when I read it because I've seen people wearing two watches. Most people would probably stick with one watch and have some idea of the time than to be driven crazy deciding which watch is correct.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "To live happily ..."

It is now afternoon here in NYC and I missed the Sun passing over the Empire State Building and the interesting things happening in the sky during the morning hours. I did have my coat with me this morning even though the weather prediction is that the temperature will be in the 70s.

Today's quote is "To live happily is an inward power of the soul." Author Aristotle.

Yes, what else can I add to that except to be happy for other people when they are happy. Share that moment with them and it is a guarantee that you too will experience a few seconds of happiness.

Monday, September 20, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "To be satisfied..."

Hip, Hip, Hooray! I am back on track with my blog. And yes, I am looking outside for an update as to the position of the Sun over the Empire State Building. No sighting of the Sun, but I know it is out there as I can see reflections of it on other buildings.

Today's quote is "To be satisfied with a little, is the greatest wisdom; and he that increaseth his riches, increaseth his cares; but a contented mind is a hidden treasure, and trouble findeth it not." Author Akhenaton.

Um, interesting! It takes years to figure out what you are content with to avoid trouble. That's life; no magic timing; no rules; just realization!

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Forgiveness is the..."

Yes, again today I am late getting this blog written. I actually started my day early but things needed to get done that was not on the "to do list" so I had to adjust. Weather wise, it seems nice outside. Maybe I'll get out later.

Today's quote is "Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom." Author Hannah Arendt.

What a coincidence that this is the "Quote of the day". I was giving advice to someone earlier today and I actually mentioned "forgiveness" because it was important for this person in making an important decision.

For me, I forgive and I move on. As an entrepreneur, you always have to have a clear and open mind. Your brain does not have room negativity.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Smiles form the ..."

Weekends are always busy times. Errands to get done, places to go and the list goes on. It turned out to be a nice day after starting out will a little chill in the air.

Today's quote is "Smile form the channels of a future tear." Author Lord Byron.

How many us have seen someone laughing and enjoying themselves then that person eventually starts to cry? Well, at times, that person is me; I laugh until I cry. So its more than tears for me!

Friday, September 17, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "If you see me once..."

Yes, I am a little bit late in getting to this blog. Earlier today I did see the Sun above the Empire State Building but right now all I see are dark clouds passing over it. Yesterday I got lucky and made it out of the City before the storm.

Today's quote is "If you see me once, you cannot confuse me with another." Author Luciano Pavarotti.

Now you gotta agree with him on that one.

I actually had the opportunity to go to the apartment where he used to live in NYC. It was spectacular. The views were amazing. I know I would never confuse his apartment with another.

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The right word may be..."

Putting my little knowledge I gained from my astronomy class to work, I am staring up in sky looking for the Sun. I have not seen it as yet but I got a little surprise to see a trail of smoke from an airplane which had just passed by the Empire State Building.

Today's quote is "The right word may be effective, but no word was ever as effective as a rightly time pause." Author Mark Twain.

This reminds me of what happens when a group of people is sitting around a table either for a meeting or eating and the topic being discussed is a serious one. Has anyone ever tried to see how people will respond if no one is holding their glass/cup and you decide to pick up yours while all this is going on? Try it!

Diantie's Daily Quote -"All who would win joy..."

It is interesting how the weather works. More interesting is the observation of the Sun's movement around the earth. For the past few weeks, I wrote about the Sun being to the left of the Empire State Building. Guess what? Yes, today it is to the right and moving quickly away as it makes its way to the west.

Today's quote is "All who would win joy must share it; happiness was born a twin." Author Lord Byron

We have all heard people say that in order to appreciate happiness, we must have experienced sadness. Happiness is contagious! When you are happy about something, you naturally tell someone else who is also happy for you too.

A few months ago I met someone who calls herself "The Happy Accountant". To add to that, I will call myself "The Accountant & Happy Blogger".

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "If you don't go after..."

Wow! You have to see it! All these little blobs of clouds passing over the Empire State Building. No sighting of the Sun as yet but I saw on the news this morning that it will be 78 degrees "Sweet Spot". Yes, that is what it said on ABC channel 7.

Today's quote is "If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place. " Author Nora Roberts.

Great quote and good advice too! I am going after lots of things I want and I hope to get them too! Success stories or lack thereof will be reported in the future.

Monday, September 13, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "What a lovely surpirse..."

Today started off to be a nice day so let's hope it stays that way. Yes, I am looking out the window and I see clouds passing over the Empire State Building.

Today's quote is "What a lovely surprise to finally discover how unlonely being alone can be." Author Ellen Burstyn.

We all want that "Me Time" to do what ever we please. And some of want that "Alone Time" to focus or relax. I love my "Alone Time". What do I do with this time? Among other things, watch TV, listen to music, read magazines, sleep, cook, clean and sometimes drive the scenic route home.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Knowledge of what..."

It's is chilly outside and no sighting of the sun. Lots to do today but I had to cancel an important event because of the good old headaches.

Today's quote is "Knowledge of what is possible is the beginning of happiness." Author George Santayana.

As an entrepreneur with a vision, it is only natural to smile and be happy when you talk about your plans with your friends and family. Other entrepreneurs do it as well. My plan today is to visit an entrepreneur who just got started with her business. She does not know about this visit so it will be a surprise for her.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The man who does..."

Gorgeous sunshine day; at least that is how it appears to me. Yes, I felt a little chill last night and seriously considering moving my comforter back to my bed.

Today's quote is "The man who does more than he is paid for will soon be paid for more than he does." Author Napolean Hill.

Is this true? In a few cases yes, but in this economy no! It is a struggle out there and most of us are trying to do more than what we get paid for but it is the exceptional few that will be recognized and get paid more in the long run.

Take a minute from your busy schedule today and remember those that passed away on September 11, 2001.

Now it's time to start the errands.

Friday, September 10, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Don't make money..."

Hopefully I will get myself back on track with posting my quotes early in the day. Right now all I see in the sky are various colors of clouds passing over the Empire State Building. Earlier today, I look up at the sky and saw the sun reflecting on the clouds and these beautiful tints of colors appeared in the clouds. I have never seen this before so I was excited.

Today's quote is "Don't make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you. All the other tangible rewards will come as a result." Author Maya Angelou.

Yes, I am working on the advice given in the quote. I am also making plans to challenge myself going forward and all of these plans include things that I will enjoy doing. If the tangible reward is money as the end result, great; if not, no big deal cause it wasn't the goal!

Weekend plans: - Yes, I have some but depending on the weather, I may have to change the plans for Sunday.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "Courage is fear..."

A little bit of sunshine and right now a little chilly outside. Yes, I am late with my quote today!

Today's quote is "Courage is fear that has said its prayers." Author Dorothy Bernard.

I like that quote. I am sure some people start to say their prayers when they are about to face something they are afraid of. A lot of people called on the Lord for help too.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "It is always possible..."

No rain as yet here in NYC and it is starting out to be a nice day weather wise. Yes, the Sun is out there doing its thing.

Today's quote is "It is always possible to be thankful for what is given rather than to complain about what is not given. One or the other becomes a habit of life." Author Elizabeth Elliot.

Great quote! I want to stick with the first part of the quote and be thankful for what is given to me. For some people, it is hard to be content but practice a little and it becomes easy over time.

A special thank you to a friend I met on the train for this quote.

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - Tell me and I'll..."

It's back to work time after the long weekend. No sight of the Sun from my window but it's out there as I can see reflections of it on a few buildings. Clouds are hoovering over the majestic Empire State Building.

Today's quote is "Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand." Chinese Proverb.

Great quote. Many years ago, one of my previous bosses was training me on a software program for a new assignment. I always remember him saying "you are not going to learn by watching." So he insisted that my co-workers allowed me to take control of keyboard to understand how the program works. He was a wonderful boss and I am forever grateful for all that I learnt from him.

Monday, September 6, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "It is always easier..."

Woke up to another chilly morning and almost went looking for a comforter. Lots to do today and yes, some things were accomplished yesterday.

Today's quote is "It is easier to believe than to deny. Our minds are naturally affirmative." Author John Burroughs.

Yes, I agree; it is difficult to go about your daily life being negative. I like to be positive!

Sunday, September 5, 2010

Diantie's Daily Quote - "The worst part..."

A nice chill in the air and sunshine greeted me as I opened my eyes this morning. Almost decided to roll over and go back to sleep but too many things need to get done for me to feel that I didn't let my weekend slip away.

Today's quote is "The worst part of success is to try to find someone who is happy for you." Author Bette Midler.

How do you resolve this dilemma? It is not an easy task. Be bold and tell people what you are doing. If you become a success, it is your glory. Be brave enough to tell them when you fail too; it shows that you have courage and took a stand.

There are some people who like to see other people fail at something. The trick is to recognize who are these people and stay away from them.
